What is Balloon Sight Intelligence?
Balloon Sight Intelligence (BSI) is a Canadian construction project intelligence feed. We aggregate permits, tenders, environmental assessment filings, and related public records from municipalities and provincial and federal portals, then surface relevant projects so subcontractors, suppliers, and general contractors can see work earlier in the pipeline.
What is on the Projects page?
The Live Projects feed on this site is a searchable, filterable table of projects sourced from public data across Alberta and British Columbia (and expanding sources). You can filter by province, sector, stage, and keyword to explore what is currently in the dataset.
Is Balloon Sight free?
Yes. Right now Balloon Sight is offered as a free pilot. There is no charge to join the pilot digest or to browse the live projects feed during this phase.
What is the pilot digest?
The pilot digest is a weekly email for people who sign up on the homepage. Messages are scoped to your selected province and trade and summarise projects surfaced from public filings: stage, geography, indicative value where available, and short plain-language context. We use pilot feedback to improve relevance and formatting.
How often is the digest sent?
Pilot subscribers typically receive one curated email per week. Cadence may adjust slightly during the pilot as we tune deliverability and content.
Which provinces does Balloon Sight cover?
The current public feed and pilot focus heavily on Alberta and British Columbia construction activity. Sources and geography can expand over time as we add integrations.
Where does the project data come from?
Data comes from public sources such as municipal open data (for example permit portals in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, and Victoria), provincial inventories and environmental registries where applicable, and federal procurement feeds. The exact mix of sources changes as feeds are maintained or upgraded.
Does the digest include contact names or verified emails?
Not in the pilot. Today the product emphasises project intelligence drawn from what is reliably available in public records. If we add richer contact or outreach features later, pilot subscribers would see that communicated clearly on the website.
How do I join the pilot or get updates?
Use the signup form on the homepage (Join the pilot / waitlist section). Provide your email, province, and trade so sends can align with how you pursue work. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time.
Who is Balloon Sight for?
It is aimed at Canadian construction firms and trades that want visibility into upcoming work earlier: concrete and forming, mechanical and electrical, civil, suppliers, rental, steel, GCs evaluating regional pipelines, and similar roles.
Is Balloon Sight a government service?
No. Balloon Sight Intelligence is an independent company. We do not represent municipalities, provinces, or the federal government. Always verify bids, permits, and contract requirements on official agency sites.
Who can I contact with questions?
For product or partnership inquiries you can reach the team via the contact email shown in the website footer.
